Project Overview – Block Paving and Artificial Grass in Clitheroe

Our team recently completed this stunning project in Clitheroe. The original driveway was overgrown and not very visually appealing. Homeowners wanted us to transform it into a functional, modern driveway. This transformation was done using Marshalls charcoal block paving with a grey border, laid in a herringbone pattern to ensure maximum strength and stability. Artificial grass was used to enhance the garden, creating a visually appealing and low maintenance area,

Before and After Comparison

Before:

• The original driveway was outdated and covered in uneven paving.
• Weeds had taken over the driveway, growing inbetween the paving, giving the space a neglected look.
• The driveway lacked proper drainage and structure, making it impractical.

After:

• The driveway features a sleek block-paved design, complemented by a contrasting grey border.
• The garden was upgraded by installing artificial grass, providing a year-round green appearance without the need for regular maintenance.
• The entire driveway is well-structured, functional and visually enhanced.

Materials Used

1. Charcoal Block Paving:
   • Chosen for its durability and modern aesthetic.
   • Herringbone pattern increases strength and resistance to movement.
2. Light Grey Border:
   • Used to frame the driveway, creating a bold contrast.

   • Chosen for its realistic appearance and low-maintenance nature.

4. Base Materials:
   • Crushed stone and compacted base for the foundation to provide stability.
   • Sand layer for leveling and securing the blocks.

Construction Stages

1. Clearing the Area:
   • Original driveway and garden were cleared of any materials and debris.
   • Site was leveled in preparation for the new installations.
2. Laying a Solid Foundation:
   • Driveway base was constructed with a compacted sub-layer of crushed stone to provide long-term stability.
   • A leveling layer of sharp sand was evenly spread to create a smooth surface for the block paving.
3. Crafting the Driveway:
   • Charcoal block paving was laid in a herringbone pattern, guaranteeing strength.
   • An alert grey border was expertly installed around the driveway to frame the design.
4. Enhancing the Garden:
   • The garden area was leveled and prepared for the installation.
   • Artificial grass was custom-fitted to the space , providing a clean and vibrant lawn.
5. Final Detailing:
   • Kiln-dried sand was swept into the paving joints to lock the blocks firmly in place.
   • The entire area was thoroughly cleaned, leaving the space ready for immediate use.
