Even though our customers in Lancashire had a lovely front garden, they really didnt use it much and said it took a lot of time to actually maintain it. So we were really happy when they contacted Stone Made Drives to come and give them a quote for a new paved driveway, retaining wall and new garden path.
As you can see from the images below, even though we dug up a large area for the driveway, our clients still had a lovely area to one side that they could still enjoy.
Before the new driveway could be installed, we had to remove the large hedge thats stood very tall to the front of the garden. We then dug up the whole grass area to one side. The old concrete pathway was removed to.
We then started by laying the retaining brick wall to one side of the garden, leaving a gap inbetween this and the fence panels. The middle was filled with soil allowing our clients to plant flowers once the project was completed. Our expert brick layers laid a thin layer of bricks around the garden. This acted as a lovely border that seperated the driveway from the new garden path. To the otherside of the garden, we built another retaining brick wall. This made the enterance to the driveway stand out more.
Using charcoal coloured blocks, we created yet another border around the garden. Our customers chose to have ash coloured, Tagler rough tumbled paving blocks. These were to be placed in the middle of the carcoal coloured border, creating a lovely new driveway.
The new garden path was then installed using the same paving blocks. I think you can agree that the new driveway looks amazing. Our customers were really happy and so were we.
There are so many advantages to having a large front garden. So much can be done to it. Being able to recommend practical solutions is what we do best.
